Established in 2015, the Sikkim Skill Development Department aims to empower the youth by enhancing their employability through vocational training, skill mapping, and entrepreneurship programs. Guided by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), the department focuses on bridging the skill gap, promoting industry partnerships, and supporting vulnerable groups including women, SC/ST, and Persons with Disabilities.

It also emphasizes digital learning, foreign language training, and the “Vocal for Local” initiative to create self-reliant and skilled manpower across the state.
